Situated on what was once known as Vestasl’s Bloomery, the first ironworks west of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this project necessitated the repurposing of an abandoned structure that was allegedly used as a slave quarters. It was built and added onto at different times in the 19th Century. The client was the Bloomery Plantation Distillery, purveyor of “moonshine based cocktail liqueurs.
Centerpoint is a mixed-use development in downtown Baltimore, Maryland comprised of 650,000 sf of new construction, renovation and adaptive reuse, as well as significant historic preservation.
Located in the Johnston Square neighborhood, the 700 block of East Preston included 18 units renovated to LEED for Homes Silver and Energy Star 3.0 standards. The exterior facades were restored to their original character including brick fronts, large double-hung windows, decorative cornices and marble stoops. In addition, tree pits along Preston and the greening of a vacant adjacent lot helps complete the beautification of this section of neighborhood.

The Boardwalk Resort Hotel is a 12 story, 88 unit oceanfront hotel located on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Aptly named for Virginia Beach’s most enduring attraction, the facility is arguably the best location on the beach.
Located in the Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhood of South Baltimore, this addition and renovation of a historic firehouse for the Baltimore Station into a residential treatment facility for men with substance abuse addiction, The program consists of beds for 92 men, including two dorms, semi-private suites, bathrooms, commercial kitchen, and dining areas. In addition, office space was provided for counselors and administration. The facility incorporates green technology and includes a green roof, autoclaved aerated concrete masonry, and a restored original spiral stair discovered during demolition.
Located in Hyattsville, Maryland, this is a 16-story student apartment with 910 beds opened at the site providing housing for students from 11 local colleges and universities. It serves as the residential component of University Town Center which has been dubbed "the realization of a half-century old dream to counter the patterns of “suburban sprawl.”
Located inside of Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, the historic Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory & Botanic Gardens is the second-oldest steel framed-and-glass building still in use in the U.S. Opened in 1888, the Conservatory features year-round displays of plant material in five distinct areas of the facility: the original 1888 Palm House, the Orchid Room, Mediterranean House, Tropical House and Desert House. The project involved the restoration of glazing, creation of interstitial pavilions as well as the upgrade to mechanical systems that were conducive to each “micro-climate.”
Located in Baltimore, the project is a renovated, 50,000 square foot historic manufacturing building located on the western edge of Federal Hill, close to M & T Bank Stadium. The building many original features including heavy timber beams, exposed brick interiors and expansive windows with significant new architectural elements. Originally built c. 1900 for the Parker Metal Decorating Company, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Under Construction - New Yorkers fell in love with upstate New York during Covid retreats. Glass was to be maximized in order to experience the outside from as many rooms as possible.
